"To Wean Us from the World" - C.S. Lewis on Aging with Devin Brown

Next Sunday, October 19

Join Devin Brown as we look at C. S. Lewis’s posthumous book, Letters to An American Lady.  Written during the last 13 years of his life, Lewis's letters to Mary Shelburne, a widow from Washington, DC, touch on nearly every aspect of getting older.  Offering comfort, wisdom, and humor, Lewis explores such topics as starting a new job late in life, trips to the dentist, his own chronic ailments, losing a spouse, Queen Elizabeth’s coronation, and facing death.  In a letter near the end, Lewis reminds us all: "There are better things ahead than any we leave behind.”
