STUDENT|Life – the youth ministry for students in grades 6-12 at Christ Church Cathedral – seeks to be a Christian community reflecting Christ’s love and acceptance to all people.

STUDENT|Life offers a safe and affirming space to learn about Jesus, Scripture, and The Episcopal Church. We work with students and their families to offer purposeful spiritual formation and exciting activities while also establishing meaningful and lasting relationships with one another in a distinctly Christian environment.
There are three main gatherings for students:

Sundays at 10am - Sunday School and Scripture Study

Sundays at 12:30pm - Confirmation Class (lunch included)

Sundays at 5pm - Youth Group Meeting and Fellowship

STUDENT CONFIRMATION
One key component of STUDENT|Life is Confirmation. Many students elect to be confirmed at some time during their high school careers! Confirmation in The Episcopal Church is “the sacramental rite in which the candidates "express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop" (BCP, p. 860). Those who were baptized at an early age and those baptized as adults without laying on of hands by a bishop are expected to make a mature public affirmation of their faith, recommit themselves to the responsibilities of their baptism, and receive laying on of hands by a bishop (BCP, p. 412).”
Confirmation is an important part of a lifetime journey of faith as followers of Jesus. This program year, beginning on October 15, 2023 and culminating with the Bishop’s visit and confirmation on April 14, 2024, students interested in exploring confirmation will meet on select Sundays at 12:30pm (lunch included!) to prepare for this important step in their Christian walk.
