What is the Christ Church Legacy Society?
We are the stewards of Christ Church Cathedral today, as those who followed our founders were in their day. We are downstream from their legacy - their vision of Christ Church as people of prayer and action extending God's love - which we have embraced. We have the honor of being custodians of this legacy now and the opportunity to extend it to future generations.

Each of us enjoys an inheritance, or legacy, at Christ Church, from those who worshiped here before us. Making a long-lasting provision for our beloved church in our will or estate plans, or during our lifetime, helps share our worship traditions with those who will come after us.

A legacy is a gift of cash, securities, real estate, or personal property that is granted by the terms of a will-often a substantial gift that needs to be properly managed. It can also be a gift that is given during one's lifetime so that the benefit of the legacy can be enjoyed by the donor.

Through our permanent gifts, members of the Legacy Society will pass the gift of Christ Church on to future generations. Legacy giving is a way your life in Christ Church can endure and ensure that when families in the future seek a church home, Christ Church Cathedral is still a thriving community, as it was when you came.

The Christ Church Legacy Society has been established to honor those who include Christ Church in their wills, or estate plans through a planned gift or who make a significant permanent gift during their lifetime. ​

The rich history and traditions of Christ Church inspire us to continue to nurture and grow our community of faith for future generations through the Christ Church Legacy Society.
Raising your hand and becoming a member of the Christ Church Legacy Society is an outward, visible commitment that portrays the value of Christ Church in your life. Additionally, your leadership in becoming a member of the Legacy Society encourages others to make similar commitments of faith. Simply put, your gift leverages gifts from other members.
Today's gifts are important because they enable us to grow in our faith and reach out to others. However, "tomorrow's" gifts, or legacy gifts, are vital because they allow for the future of our beloved church. Through God's grace and your generosity, Christ Church will be in a strong position to bring the message of hope in Jesus Christ to the people of Lexington for centuries to come. When you join the Christ Church Legacy Society your help assure that generations of people will receive the gifts of hope, prayer, fellowship, and worship forever.
As a member of the Legacy Society, you will receive an invitation to its annual celebration where new members are recognized, and all members are thanked.
But the biggest reward of your membership in the Legacy Society is your individual legacy at Christ Church.
