The Cathedral Choir
Canterbury Cathedral, July 10-20, 2026

In July 2026, the Cathedral Choir has a unique opportunity to travel and serve as Resident Choir in Canterbury Cathedral in the city of Canterbury in Kent, England. The opportunities for learning, sharing, and broadening our horizons and creating new, positive relationships with fellow Anglicans around the globe is remarkable indeed.

Cathedrals throughout history have placed worship and music at the center of their identity and purpose. In times of celebration and loss our Cathedrals stand as testaments to God's grace and healing. Cathedrals give the gift of music, the gift of culture and the gift of spirituality. For decades, Christ Church Cathedral has supported a historic and vibrant chorister program. Indeed, our choristers form the heart of our music ministry and our worship services.

For 50 years, Christ Church Cathedral has supported and sustained choirs trained in the English Cathedral tradition. Instruction for the choristers is based on the curriculum of the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM).

Children and youth deepen their sense of history, liturgy, language and art as well as their ability to interpret sacred texts and music. Through the ongoing effort of learning and working together, they also develop friendships and become part of a community that uplifts collective and individual efforts. The Cathedral choirs learn what it is to be at the heart of vibrant worship.
